Moving today, wrasse still in sand. Help!

I have to move the tank today and the melanarus wrasse isn't coming out of the sand...of all days. I've had the light on 5 hours, tried putting some food in and he still won't come out. Short of waiting for the tank guys to come take out rocks and chase him out, is there anything else less stressful I can try?
Thanks!

Once you remove the rocks stir up the sand with your fingers. Yes it will be stressful, but at this point I don't see any viable alternatives.
