Cleaning sump/fuge
How gross is your fuge section? Mine is (at least for me) it's got all kinds of algae, diatoms, possibly cyno. Should I leave it in there or suck it all out and scrub it all down? I'm having a hard time finding out what to do on here. It's part of my 20L sump with LR rubble and cheato
I do have some cyno in my dt but I'm furiously working on getting rid of it. I'm also hoping this will help my problems Thanks |

Does anyone have pics of their fuge/sump and it's goodies in the fuge compartment? Just so I can compare

i just cleaned mine recently, it's been up and running 5 months. it'll probably be another 5-6 months before i do it again. i have a big ball of chaeto in the fuge that is crammed with lots of mini brittle stars and all kinds of other stuff. if i shine a flashlight on it, i see stuff scurrying all over. i think they're planning to take over the world, there are so many of them.

So I cleaned it out today, all my LR was covered in red slime. I brushed it all off and scrubbed the walls and shop vac'd the junky water out. Looks 100% better. My question is, are your sumps/fuges all nasty like mine too?

i can't say mine was "nasty" but then, i'm a clean freak so even a little cyano drives me crazy!
