How do LFS/suppliers keep from everything getting infested?
Seriously, how do they stop so many unwanted guests from getting into their systems? It only takes one frag and then BOOM, the system is infested with it. How are they able to avoid most of these pests? They're constantly having new specimens introduced into their systems.

Most lfs can't afford to qt. Modt good ones dip corals on arrival and attempt to pick off visible pests.

Short answer: they dont. Go to any importer in the US and at least 60% of the coral is dying or unhealthy

A lot of times, many LFS have sickly and unhealthy corals. They just don't care or are unaware of the pests they are selling. I have seen countless reef tanks get torn up with AEFW or some sort of parasite just because of a careless retailer.

Some LFS do a weekly coral dip but it doesn't catch everything so is not a silver bullet.
