Going to treat for ich

I picked up a 30 gallon tank today that i am going use to treat my 5 fish for Ich and I have a couple of ?s. First I am going to use cupermine and was wondering if I have to go to .5 ppm I would like to go with .3? Only because I will be doing a Flame Angel and a Lawnmower Blenny. I would extend the treatment for 6 weeks.

Also seeming that my tank is going to be fallow for quite a while I was wondering if it would be possible to change my sand to a larger grain all at once. The only things in the DT will be a couple of Zoa colonies a Cleaner Shrimp and also a Mushroom.

Any advice would be most helpful and appreciated and thanks for the help.
