The pro is it is cheap.
The con is it is cheap. Some people have had them last a while and many others have had them fail. It is a coin toss, you may get lucky with them and you may not. This is always the risk when buying bottom tier Chinese imports.

I have a pair and have never had one fail.
They are super quiet compared to competing powerheads. They need to be cleaned periodically to maintain optimal flow, but this is important with any circulation pump. Big pro for me is that the power for the pump is DC current and you do not need to have another AC power line dangling into the display. |

Here's a link below or just check out the next page... in between the business ethics debate, there's good information about the pumps themselves.
I don't have any personal experience with them but I have two RW-15 pumps on order. The Vortech MP40 would be a better product and last longer, but at that price point the RWs can be purchased and replaced many times over in the long-term at a fraction of the price. If money is not the concern, I would go Vortech or Tunze and you'll also get good customer support. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2412004 |

I run a mp10 on my 28g, and love it. Its small, easy to program, mounted on the glass I don't hear a sound, and it's powerful enough that I have it turned almost all the way down. I can see a nice even wave across the waterline. Just re-aquascaped so I'm in need of another power head, and going with the same.

I have been running two for over a year and never had a problem. unlike a Vortech, they can be pointed in any direction. for the money, they can't be beat.

That's right! Way more affordable than the competition. Pick them up on amazon and if they fail or you don't like them within a month, send them back. And you could have them by Friday.

I have Jebao wp40, vortech mp40 and mp60 in my 210 gallon. I can't say anything bad about them. I use them to supplement flow but could not rely on them if i did not have the mp60. In nutrient export mode, the MP60 pulls a pile of debris to the side of the tank it is on. No other pump I have tried will do that and the Jebao will not either.
All said and done I like them as a cheap way to supplement flow. |

Jebao wp40
I just got a WP40 a few months ago and I was super impressed. I'm not a seasoned reefing expert yet but I do a lot of research and these are rated extremely well. From a cost to performance ratio you can't beat these. I'd have to say I love mine in my 125 gallon tank and it moves the water well. I'm going to get a 2nd one. Even if it ever does break on me I have no problem with replacing a $69 powerhead like this. I'm still debating if I should pull back on power as I'm worried some of my corals are getting too much flow.
Great speed and wave options + feed mode for a great price. |

i have the rw20 on a 180 gal that is 4ftx3ft and slightly more than 25 inches deep. i bought two of rw20s and have had them for about a month. i don't think i need two, one is plenty powerful…i run it at 20% during the day and use the night mode which takes it down to the lowest setting.
i think i paid about $200 for the two pumps and the controllers and considering vortech is like $600 for the big one i can't see how it is that much better. I do admit i have never used the vortch so may i just don't get it but for the price of the vortech i could get the jeboa and nearly an APEX controller seem like a no brainer i word of caution, i have 3/4 in acrylic and the magnet does only an OK job of holding on….if i crank up the power to over 50% it becomes unstable. Alos, if you buy two pumps, be sure you don't mix up the magnets….. |

Flow is great on the new RW range (previous models had quite directed flow, RW is much wider).
Price is great. They are the quietest powerheads I've ever used. You can raise/lower flow by using different voltage power supplies. I've had 1 fail in a year and it was replaced under warranty. I'm having trouble with the controllers at the moment, they keep losing the settings I have (power supply is constant and non-interrupted), which makes it very annoying because I use night mode and else mode during the day. I will likely be buying the JB Wave controller to fix this, but I don't mind paying the extra to replace a cheap controller since the pumps themselves are already less than 1/4 the price of a vortech. |

I've had one of my wp25's for about four weeks now and I'm very happy with it. For the price of these pumps you cannot beat them.
Pro's: Cheap Controllable Very powerful Silent Fairly small size Con's: It only goes as low as 50% power The night sensor doesn't work when it's completely dark I just received another wp25 from a fellow reefer on here. The only reason I got it was because he's upgraded to the newer Rw jebao's

Pro:
Cheap Fairly quiet Powerful (initially) Easy to use Replacement parts becoming easier to source Cons: Little to no manufacturer support after purchase Lose a tremendous amount of power if even slightly dirty Require very frequent cleanings I have had both jebao and vortech powerheads. One is under 100 new, the other is around 500 new. The vortech feels more robust and higher quality and you get better support from the company...however, when my magnet on the vortech cracked and the Impeller broke, I was faced with a decision...buy a new magnet and impeller assembly for the mp40 for around $70-80, or just buy another jebao. I bought another jebao. Other products are made and assembled domestically and sport more rigid housings and better controllers, bit when it comes down to it, if you're on a budget, the performance difference isn't nearly as big as the price difference if that makes sense |
