sump size/design, please help

OK, I just built the stand for my 130 gallon tank via the link in this forum.

so, when i was first designing this stand, I was thinking of using a 55 gallon tank for the sump. I decided to add two vertical supports on my frame, one in the middle one in the back for additional support. So now, I have a left and a right side of the stand to put a sump/equipment.

Here is the layout that I am now stuck with. With me having a 130 gallon tank, can I get away with joining two smaller tanks with a center area that is smaller than th side tank(s). Check out the picture, you'll understand what I am TRYING to say.

I have a 30" clearance in height to play with as well
