breeding pair of clownfish help
I think my pair of regular orange ocellaris might be spawning. The female in question gets rather large in the abdominal region and she is super aggressive towards male like literally grabbed him by the stomach and shook his vigorously. Is there anyway I can stop her from injuring the male and is there anything I can put into the tank that they'd host so later down the road I'd be able to easily remove eggs if I wanted to try to actually rear them?

I have seen alot of people put a red ceramic pot piece for clownfish to lay eggs on. break off one the size of your fist for them.

Also if I remove the rock I think they are using for a spawning area will they stop spawning all together?

If I removed your bed would you stop spawning forever? Why do you want them to stop? The agression between them?

I don't want them to stop just want to move big rock out and put in smaller one for easier removal of eggs later down the road

Im not trying to discourage you, but I just want to make sure you know how much effort goes into raising these guys. You will also probably need about 3-4 20-30 gallon tanks. Along with that goes heaters, air pumps, buckets for the rotifers, and lights. |
