SRO 6000ext or RO regal 300ext
Which skimmer should I go with, avd why should I spend the extra for the regal?

the main advantage for the regal comes with the DC pump to the skimmer... if your bioload isnt high enough for the skimmer to maintain a constant skimmate. then you could always turn the pump down to make the nutrients within the aquarium system. as that bioload increases, you can increase the pump on the skimmer to match it....

Save your money and go with the SRO 6000. Not only is it cheaper it consumes 5 watts less and has 100 l/h air more than the DC. Not a big difference but never the less better for less.

I have the 6000 ext for over a year and a half its a champ never an issue. Take the extra money you save and invest in the second best (lazy mans) aquarium product, a neck cleaning system for the skimmer. I only have to clean the skimmer once every 3 or 4 months...

I just picked up a Regal 300EXT and Vertex Vectra neck cleaner for my new 450g setup.
The price difference wasn't so great (about $130 extra for the Regal), the DC pump may have some advantages at times, and I like the white and red color scheme of the Regal. Both seem to be amazing skimmers for the money. I had planned on a BK 250 Super Marine, but I went with the Coralvue product after reading about some people's problems getting replacement parts from Royal Exclusiv. |

Thank you all for the comments. I will certainly be getting the auto neck cleaner no matter which model I get
