Jbj arctica troubles

My chiller stopped working no display lighting. I replaced the fuse and also tried a new plug outlet still nothing. If you have any idea on what i can do to get this back up and running I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Mine did the same a number of years ago-1/4 hp version. Controller bit the dust. I rewired it to work without the controller bypassing it and it is now run by power on/off by my apex (and ACjr before that). Has been working this way for about 5 years now perfectly that way. It wasn't hard to wire up, the schematic was on the instruction booklet that came with it.

Oh no that's not going to be easy so it sounds. Ugh might have to look into buying a new one I guess. Thank you for your reply I appreciate it.

So did you basically just have it so the compressor runs all the time while the power is on and control the outlet power by the temp probe? Good hacking, whatever way you went about it!

If it is just the controller get a ranco etc 211000. It will control your heaters and your chiller. They are $100 and very reliable.

http://www.etcsupply.com/ranco-etc21...age-p-105.html

It is easy to bypass the jbj controller.

It's actually quite easy to do if you know anyone who is handy with wiring. Spending $50-$60 on an external single-stage Ranco controller and having a friend bypass the broken JBJ controller beats spending $500+ on a new chiller.

If nothing else, it would be cheaper to send the chiller in for repair than buying a new one.

Right on guys I'm going to look into it. I'd rather the cheaper route as long as it's possible.
