Liverock invasion
Hi,
I am having an invasion of the liverock of my tank by a grass/algae and would like some advice as to what is the name of it and how do I go about treating it. I have tried blacking out my tank, controlling the amount of food, control the amount of hours of natural sunlight and T5 lighting, I have increased the frequency of changing my Rowaphos media, I have tried brushing it off with a toothbrush; all to no avail. I would like to know what is the name of it and how do I treat it. My tank is over two years old and this has appeared for approximately 6 months ago. I have attached two pictures so you can see what it looks like. It is the brownish grass/root-like growth on the liverock. It is soft and moves with the current in my tank. |

hard to tell from the picture but it could be some kind of filter feeding critter that's harmless.

Hard for me to see on my phone but could be a type of hydroid if not aptasia.

Definitely not aptasia. It looks more like the root of a plant, fibrous. I will try to take another picture and a video. Thank you for the help thus far.
