Base rock
So I just got a 80 gallon tank with Stan free! I want to set up an aggressive tank. A guy on Craigslist has 100 lbs of what he calls base rock. He describes this as live rock he removed from a tank and stored in a bucket for about 4 months. Can I use this for the rock in my aggressive tank by adding it whaen iAds the sand and begin cycling the tank? Because of money the cycle will go a couple of months before anything is added.
Thanks |

Sure, should be fine. I assume he stored it all dry?

That should be fine, all you need is to seed these "dead" rocks with a small piece of liverock. Since they've been dry you just need to be patient in the cycling.

Base rock
Base rock is absolutely awesome, however i would use aquarium safe glue as they tend to try and knock the ornaments out of order sometimes...Also this is a reef forum... Most aggressive fish stay in FOWLRS
