kinda of a funny question.

Last night I found my nem stuck in the power head. I want to pick up a new one today, but I just did a 40% water change with RO water. I was using tap water for nine months. Should I wait, or would it be safe to get one for my clowns? Also any tips on keeping them out of the power heads?

Wait. They release stinging cells when wounded and can destroy a tank. Keeping them out of powerheads? Looking at my own powerhead, and considering the ways of nems, I'd say forget having anything but a carpet anemone and even then, disaster is possible. Upgrade your tank to corals, and get either a toadstool softie or a hammer coral. Either would require careful attention to water chemistry. But clowns generally have no trouble making a home in same; and if you have a nicely-growing hammer, they'll have tentacles aplenty. The thing they also have is a stony skeleton rooting them firmly where you put them. They do require calcium supplementation, via kalk or some other method.

Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny, royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%.

Thanks. I'll hold off. Tank is only a 50 gallin breeder so a carpet is out of the question. My fish and corals seem fine. Should i do a water change being the release stinging cells? I just did a 40% with the RO system.

Also try to put some kind of sock or foam around the power head to not have it happen again

Some powerhead manufactures make covers. Often called prefilters or foam guards.
