Hey everyone first time on this forum, and just recently started thinking about setting up a reef tank.
I have a 10 gallon planted tank I'm thinking about converting to a reef tank due to being told that my mr. aqua MA-332 35.8 watt light is too strong for that small of a tank even with co2 and ferts. I'm still researching on reef tanks and probably will be a while till I make my decisions, but I was wondering if I could grow beginner corals such as button polyps, green star polyps, xenia, and mushrooms in that setup. The light is all white and from what I read I have to clean it to make sure salt creeps don't ruin it. From my understanding 10 gallon is on the smaller side but I'm thinking about converting due to being reluctant to buy a bigger tank (space and stand issues).
It's either this or buy a bigger tank to plant but the idea of a reef tank has been pretty appealing lately so you know…
Tank will be cycled before adding corals (of course), might buy LR from petco to seed, and maybe 2 neon gobies as inhabitants after everything else is settled and evened out.
Thoughts, questions, feedbacks, criticism all appreciated
and once again hello everyone, glad to have joined this forum.
