Mp40 wetside ... should I replace it or get the $20 kit?

Hi.

I've been using mp40 for two years. Suddenly wetside stopped and didn't work after vinegar dip. Dry side works.

I tried opening wet side see pic no 1 pls.
I think I broke the center screw. ...

Also to push remaining screw thru magnet disc. .I had to tap it out. Now the disc slightly bulges around the hole. Pic 2.

Am I better off buying the wet side kit or get a new wet side?

Pls advice thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple months ago. The maintenance kit worked fine to get it running again and it a whole lot cheaper than a new wetside. You might want to consider getting the wetside ceramic bearing as well.

Looks like it yes. You may not need it but for $15 it's worth having on hand (in my opinion). I was fine not replacing but would have preferred to while installing the kit.

Looks like I have all the parts correct for the wet side in the pic right? I kinda feel I'm missing a washer. ... not sure

Looks like there is a semi-transparent white washer missing.

Your washer is there, it's on the propeller side of the magnet. I see it in your picture.

Yes, you did break the screw.

I find it much better to soak the wetside overnight in vinegar solution to loosen it up.

I bought an extra wetside to swap out while I clean one, get it all clean then swap out the other one for cleaning.

Keep track of that little washer. They will run away at a moments notice!
