Coral beginner advice please possible flower pot Gronipora
Hi,
I am new to the hobby and have a Fluval M90 which I love. I just purchased a new Coral which I believe is a flower pot gronipora. Can anyone positively Idtentify it please? I have read these are very hard to look after and the LFS has not listened to my requirements as being a beginner. |

It is a goniopora and they are very hard to keep. Most aquarists can only keep them for a month or two. You will find that in this hobby you will have to be your best source of advice and not the LFS. Research everything (livestock, equipment, etc) before buying.

I would try to take it back or sell it.

Looks healthy? I have one I got when my tank was 2 months old. Got home and read the stories of them dying, and it's going to be 2 years old in a couple months! If it's looking healthy keep it. They like higher light and low flow.

For me, goni likes low light, decent flow and lots of feeding. It will die if not fed enough
