skimmer problem related to new reactor?

I recently bought a dual reactor and running BRS gfo and carbon in it. Have had this running for about 4days now my question is ever since running this reactor my skimmer does not seem to be working as well not pulling as much stuff out daily and not producing fine bubbles at top of neck like before almost like when you put stress coat in when adding a new fish, is this common? Or do I possible have something going with skimmer? Skimmer is only like 2months old it is a reef octo 110, I know it is finicky about water level but that hasn't changed. Not sure what's going on?
