Vertex Omega 150 Users

I'm finally getting ready to swap over to my Omega 150 I picked up on Black Friday. I'm in the process of running it with RO and vinegar for a few hours. My question is what depth are you guys running the skimmer at? I think a few people told me 8-9". What are your real world experiences?

I don't have a 150 but I do have the 200 I, this skimmer is a PITA to get set properly but once you get there it does a fantastic job. mine sits at 7-3/4''.

It does have a pretty long break in time. Follow directions on break in mine took a couple of weeks

I have a 180i and I just followed the included instructions to run it overnight with the cup off. After that I set it and just started cleaning nasty skimate! Very easy and have not had to mess with it. Sump is set at 8" water.

Sorry to piggy back along on this - but is a 75 gal tank too small for this skimmer?

I always buy used skimmer to evade the break in time. Ofcourse it saves me money in long run too.

Mine is sitting in seven inches of water. So far I am very happy with it.
