New 45 Gallon JBJ RL
I am new to the hobby and have been doing research both online and visiting several LFS's. I have decided I am going with a JBJ 45 gallon Rimless. Here is what I am going to put in the tank:
Light-JBJ Pacifica LED (sixteen (16) high performance 12,000K extreme cool white LEDs, sixteen (16) 20,000K crisp blue LEDs, PLUS Four (4) 456nm actinic blue moonlighting) JBJ Regugium nano LED for refugium with chaeto and live rock crumbles and copepods 1-1.5 inches of live sand 60 pounds of live rock. 40 pounds from Florida (Tampa Bay Acquaculture or FloridaLiveRock.com) and 20 pounds from my LFS. Skimmer-Tunze 9004 Heater I am also debating adding a Hydor Koralia Nano pump, The JBJ comes with Filtration: Acrylic Filter Wall w/ Dual Overflows 3 stage filter Media basket Mechanical Sponges Activated Carbon Sponges Biological Ceramic rings Dual return Nozzles Dual SP-1000 (266GPH) High Efficiency Pumps Included Designated Heater and Chiller Column Designated Refugium Column Not sure what other kind of filtration i will need or if the Hydor nano pump is needed. I plan on doing the initial acquascape with the 40 pounds of live Florida rock and live sand and water from my LFS, then after parameters are right and tank has cycled, ill add the 20 pounds of LR from my LFS along with a cleaner crew (Blue leg hermits, turbo snails, serpent stars, brittle stars and peppermint shrimp). I am also planning on adding a few corals at this time. Once the parameters are good again, i will add some more corals and slowly add the fish. I want to stick to fairly hardy corals but lots of them and about 6 fish or so. I want a pair of clowns, 2-3 gobies if possible, a royal gamma basslet, and maybe a blue green reef chromis or a cardinalefish. I hope I am on the right track. Any advice would be appreciated. |
