Sandstorm! just added more sand
So, I have a blue dotted jawfish coming on Saturday, so I went and bought some more sand to add to the bottom of my tank. Obviously I didn't do a great job putting the sand in, because the tank is completely dusty and I can't see 1 inch into the tank. I have 2 clowns in there now and the tank had been thriving fine before the I added more sand. Could be a stupid question, but will my clowns be okay with all the sediment?

Do you have any mechanical filtration like a filter sock or filter pad? In the future you really gotta rinse that stuff thoroughly.

Thank you for the response! I thought if it was wet sand it wouldn't need to be rinsed. I dont have a sock, but I guess i should get one. Both water intakes have filter sponges. It is a standard nuvo 16.

The clowns will be fine. Just keep the water circulating. As mentioned already, a filter sock will help clear it up faster, but by the time you get one the water may already be clear. You can always get a piece of felt at a crafts store and stitch it into a sock and put it on a powerhead.
