The water should store almost indefinitely.
The salt water can sit for a while if it doesn't have any vitamins in it but it will lose some of its alk so it is best to check it prior to using it.

I mix a new batch right after water changes, just in case it might be needed. It stays outside with mag 7 in it until the night before WC. Then I bring it in, check the salinity, temp and pH and use it the next day. You will be for for a week.

just keep it out of direct sunlight and capped and it can last for a while the longest I had a jug sit was 2 months and it was still fine no smell or anything even taste fine yes I had to taste it better I spit it out then lose money on my fish lol
if you don't have a cap rubber bands and plastic food wrap or sandwich bag will work |

I keep my rodi in a 55 drum and it has never affected it. Salt on the other hand I have had a mixed batch of 55 gallons in my other drum circulating in the drum with a triton 4 pump for 3 weeks with no affect on the water. I use IO salt. I always check tds,ph,alk, cal and salinity before I do a WC

You are correct. RODI should be fine for ever as long as it is in a sealed container. Salt just keep mixing and it should be fine as long as there are no proteins in the salt

do you need to add buffer to ro water before you add to tank as top off. wouldn't it be better to because adding ro water with 7 ph will lower ph in time. or am i over-thinking this

As long as your saltwater does not contain organics (most do not) you can also store it indefinitely without aeration, heat or water movement. It is a good idea to aerate and heat stored saltwater just prior to use. I usually mix up enough saltwater at once to last two months.
