Questions on Anemones

I have two LTA.

in 40g breeder, two 175w MH about 10" off water (20k Plusrite bulbs)
I am feeding them once a week when I see them fully extended. Shrimp one time and scallops the next..
Is it normal for them to be fully extended (green one gets about 6", purple gets around 8") one day and then not so much for a few.
The green one will draw down to about 2" for a day or two then puff back up..
The purple one will draw down to about 4"

I am colorblind they may not actually be green and purple,, just what they look like to me

The one in the second picture is a type of Condylactis, the first one might be an M. doreensis (( LTA )), but would need to see the underside of the oral disc to be sure. If it is, it should be in the sandbed, at least 2-3 inches deep.

What is your salinity/SG?

Your phosphates are very high, are you using RO/DI water? If so, what is the TDS.

Do they retract after feeding? How much are you actually feeding them?

IMO/E, anemones are often overfed, and when fed are given pieces of food that are too large -- the smaller the better, easier for them to digest.

my rainbow BTA's will deflate when they are getting rid of waste no matter what time of day it might need to come out lol. but they always inflate again after about an hour. How long have you had them? maybe they are just adjusting still. I feed once a week.

Salinity is 1.026
not using RO/DI. going to get some from LFS this payday.I may get enough premixed SW to do large change, then start using RO/DI in ATO tank..

The Condylactis is stuck to the glass right at the sand bed, when I put him in, he went to the front right corner and planted his butt down..

The first one has been all over the tank, he stayed as in the picture for a week or so then got caught under that rock.
I picked the rock up two days ago and he came right out, went to the glass and planted.
He inflated later that day but has deflated today.
He has little white spots under his disc, if that helps..

I feed them pieces about 1/4", two or three pieces each..

First one I have had three weeks maybe..(PetCO)
Second one I got last week..(Triad Reef Critters..my LFS)

Started carbon and gfo again just now..
