Totally new guy
I just moved to Oswego, IL from Texas. I kept fresh water aquariums for several years but they were fairly small 55 gal common and a custom 65 gal. Never had any real problems. Now after not having an aquarium for some time I would like to go for Saltwater. Where in the Chicagoland area can I go to get good honest information about starting and maintaining a saltwater tank? I'm not even sure what size or type of fish I want yet. I guess watching Tanked on cable got me going on this.

The best start you can do on this site, is to read the following 'stickies.' These are posts that stay at the top of this forum.
Sticky: ***SETTING UP: HOW TO!!! Comprehensive list of articles for the newbie aquarist!!!*** Sticky: Pix & ID: Critters that come in your rocks: the good and the bad. ( 1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page) Sticky: PLEASE check out your intended fish purchases here first! Also, here are some good books to get you going, as well: http://www.amazon.com/Reef-Aquarium-...=reef+aquarium http://www.amazon.com/Book-Coral-Pro...al+propagation

I know many will disagree with this (mostly LFS owners) but dont trust your LFS salesman to be 100% honest. They do have a business to run. Trust a book!
