Unwrapping the photon 48 by reefbreeders
Good morning folks,
I wanted to help others make a decision when choosing lights. So I have decided to take a few pictures of the new photon 48 made by refrigerators that I just received over the weekend. Since the actual tank won't be set up for several more months I've only wanted to give a brief description of what to expect when making this purchase. Here is what it looks like upon arrival. Packaged well. The only thing that I was shocked about is that the deliveryman left it at the front door. For something of this price range you would think that it would have to be signed, but it doesn't. With that said reef breeders still had the light delivered it in a very timely manner and I was extremely pleased about the process, Notification, and delivery. Here are the items that are included when purchasing the lighting. I am missing one hanging pendant and waiting on a response from reefbreeders. I will say the aluminum legs appear to seem weak (could be more sturdy imho) however they do the job. This is just a picture showing you the Length of the power cord on my 90 gallon tank. I feel the cord is too short and definitely could use an extra 3 to 4 feet in my opinion. There's a picture of the feet. if you have the plastic molding around a tank like I do then this is kind of pointless as a doesn't secure to the edge of the tank well. Good idea, though it just doesn't help with the tank I have. may be different for you. http://vid871.photobucket.com/albums...y/IMG_0606.mp4 Here's a short video (pay only attention to the sound) Of the sound that is made by the fans. It's actually a lot quieter then what it may sound. I'm quite pleased about it. Other thoughts: i wish the remote was a little better built as it feels cheap however it works well and without issues so no complaints here. I am looking forward to set it up and hang around with different control functions that this light has. On the scale one through 10 (being high) I would rate this an 8. The instructions that come with the package are lacking..they get the job done however I would say needs improvement. If you have limited funds like I do, then this is still a good contender. I hope this has helped you out. if there's anything that you want me to take a picture of let me know but please be patient. Ty, Mark |

Nice review, it seems that a vast majority of owners of ReefBreeders leds are happy with them.
