Calfo coast to coast overflow question

I'm doing a tank build and have these options:

1. Cut the back 1" shorter than the rest of the tank and attach a full coast to coast to the back of the tank connected to the side glass.

2. Have the glass notched out with a water jet. Again attach as above. This would allow eurobracing on the back

3. Do a small internal box about 6" deep and 1.5" wide internally. Then drill 3 60mm holes in the back glass to allow drainage into a 5" wide x 6" deep external box.

I want to run a bean animal in the external box regardless of my final choice.

I've read a million threads here about it and thought asking advice would help

For what it worth I went with option 3 on my 120, three 1-1/2" holes with a 30" wide, 1-1/2" internal and 6" high internal overflow.

I think option 3 is the safest and allows rear eurobracing to the external box.

I'm late to the game, but I went with a C2C along the side of my 350G and I really like it. Great surface skim and it keeps the inside of the aquarium clean. That said, the sides are typically shorter and, if you choose to hide your overflow (because it will be visible when you fill it with water) you don't mind the encrusting coralline as much along one side as you do on the back.

Andrew I live in Hamilton Ontario lol. We are neighbours 👍

I think I'm going to get the tank built and build my sump out of an old 200 g I cut apart. I will get the back notched and eurobraced with an external c2c.

It will be in wall so if the sump blows out I'll make sure the fish room can contain it lol.
