need advice!

I am about 6 weeks into a start up of a 160 gallon tank. I have a yellow tang and introduced a Heniochus a few hours ago. The Tang is being very agressive toward the Heniochus and I am wondering if this will settle down or will have a casualty in the morning. I thought they were comparable but not so sure now. Is this just establishing the pecking order or am I in trouble? Any advice appreciated!

Yellow tangs are pretty territorial. Probably should have been added last. With that being said, you have a decent sized tank. The fighting will most likely stop and all will be good. Turn your lights off, that will help a bit tonight too.

They should settle down, it may be worth turning off your lights to give the Heniochus a chance. I added a white cheek tang to my tank with a yellow tang, there was a few little squabbles to start with, 3 days later it's calmed right down. Give it time, you should be fine, if it starts getting really aggressive though I'd pull one of them out.

Yellow Tangs can be PITA sometimes. Now are these the first 2 in the tank? If so, you might have a problem for real with the Yellow tang being aggressive. Usually it's recommend to introduce the yellow tang last. Once established they can be realy nasty with newcomers.
