Strange growth

Hi there. I have a tank that just finished cycling but keeps growing this film in all the corners wherever it is siliconed together. I scrap it off (which fills my tank with floating grossness!) and every few days it comes back. Any ideas?

I'm not sure why the image I uploaded is sideways. Sorry about that.

It looks like your silicone is peeling up

It's brand new. It's more like a slimy film...

It's kind of like a very light brown color too.

It only happens on the silicone? Not all over the glass?

Film algae is common, but if its only on the silicon it may be something bad? idk.

it is perfectly matched with the silicone, that cant be coincidence maybe the silicone has some protective cover when it was built that never got peeled off.

Do you do a water change after each scraping?

It appears to be the skin that forms when silicone cures. Not sure what causes it but I've seen it on all sorts or projects I've used silicone on then they get wet. As long as its not pulling up the main bead (meaning you haven't sprung a leak) you'll be fine.

Usually only happens once or twice, in my experience.
