Need Help ASAP!!!! PLEASEEEEEE
We have had our salt water tank for about a year now. We have a 45 gallon tank. We have a few corals, some anemones, a flame angel fish, a clown fish, a butterfly fish, yellow tang and 3 small fish. The other night I noticed the clown fish staying under a rock and not swimming around like he normally does. The next morning we get up and he looks horrible. Very pale and cloudy eyes. My beautiful angelfish was pink almost no color at all. We have lost a couple of the small fish and a we lost my flame angelfish. The clown is still hanging in there. I rushed to the local fish store and they tested my water and said it is PERFECT but the salt was a little high. We have lowered the salt and its reading at a constant 1.025 Before we go to bed all the fish look okay all but the (clown)but in the morning they are covered in white spots or specks. Please help me!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like Ich. Just search under Ich and you'll find a thousand threads. There are many approaches. Copper, TTM (tank transfer method), Hyposalinity, doing nothing but feeding garlic...read, read, read, and then decide on an approach. I'm currently treating for Ich as well. Decided to go with Copper but the treatment so far has taken out a few fish.

+1.. read! There is tons of information out there but you may not have a lot of time if they are "covered" I would consider getting a qt tank up and running asap and pull all the fish out and begin treating with cupermine

Ick
ouch, Too many fish causes stress, Your 45 is loaded up, A Butterfly really? The Tang is on the border as well, You need to set up a Hospital/Quarantien tank like now and treat those fish, You will probably lose some. Read about the treatment but in the future I would recommend les fish. Your Coral should be your top priority or run a FOWLR tank, Good Luck

Unfortunately you're not getting sound advise. It's not the number of fish you have. It's the type of fish you have.

We were just trying to give you advice on what to do.. we've all been there.
You have ich in your tank. It doesn't just go away on its own, it needs to be treated. The comment about too many fish was implying ich is brought out by stress, and too many fish (or fish that need a larger tank) in a small tank will create stress.. |

Link below will give you an overview of each fish. The first piece of info it provides is Minimum Tank Size. Look up a few of your fish and you'll understand where we are coming from. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/a...plies.cfm?c=15 |

Hey don't be offended, We are here to help. One of the best decisions I ever made was to put a Yellow Tang in my 55 GL years ago and yes I had the Tang Police all over me BUT He ate a great portion of the Algea I had in my tank and relieved a lot of stress. This is how all of us have learned. By making mistakes. Be Happy and follow advice.
