Identification of mystery disease
Hello! I have been fighting disease in my tank for months. every fish i have lives about 1-4 months before rapid breathing, scratching, twitching, and sometimes white spots. while i believed it to be ich, copper and hyposalinity, which were administered correctly, only slows the progression of the symptoms, with the exception of the spots, which don't come back. however, i believe another disease is present. the tank has been fallow for 3 months and i have a firefish in QT which now, even after bleaching the tank, has the same exact symptoms.
Today, he looked very ill, so i performed a 7 minute freshwater dip with a 75ppm concentration of hydrogen peroxide and a mysterious thing, maybe .5mm to 2mm big, fell off. i am at a loss for what this is, but i believe it's my only chance to figure out what this is. picture of what fell off: Picture meanwhile, the DT has perfect water parameters and thriving inverts, which is good, but it needs fish |
