Sump Design
So I am about build a sump for a 90 gallon cube and have been bouncing around some designs for the sump.
This design has a full siphon chamber which overflows into a chamber that has a removable filter sock plate, then goes under to a settling chamber for any larger particles to be vacuumed out occasionally. Then overflows into the skimmer section through a bubble trap into the return chamber. I have a separate refuge. The drawing shows the above much better than I can explain. Thoughts? |

Hard to see what you are designing based on a top down view, would be helpful to have a front and side view of the sump design.

Hopefully this makes it a little clearer. I added elevation lines (red) to show where the side views are generating from.

Looks good. You should also plan ahead, if you plan on doing top off or dosing, where you would put those lines etc. heater location probes. If you planning a refugium.

There should be plenty of room in the skimmer or return pump section. Which one should those items go in?
As for a fuge, I have a separate one that I will t off the main return line. Thanks for your reply! |

I would drip dosing stuff in high flow area. Maybe after skimmer so less chance of buildup in pump. But any high flow area will work.
