Priming external pump

I've got a Panworld external pump that I'd like to use to pump the saltwater mix out of my storage tank and into the sump for water changes.

The instructions say to prime it first but if it's an external pump with vinyl tubing attached to either end (one end in the sump, the other in the storage tank)...how do you prime it?

+1 that's what I do for my external pumps. Sometimes it's not as easy as it sounds because the water flows through the pump into the other hose you are not using to prime with. I mostly just try to get as much air out the hose I'm priming to the pump and wish for luck. But it does work.

I think the 'right way' would be to put a bulkhead in your mixing tank below the water line. This is what I did.
