Help setting up Trigon 190 for marine - please!
Hi!
We've bought a Trigon 190 to fulfil our dream of having a marine aquarium. Now I'm in the process of collecting all the hardware required, which is where I need advice... Powerheads...It appears as if most people with similar tanks use a couple of Tunze 6025 powerheads - any other ideas or does this seem right? Filtration...should I just keep the Juwel filter that comes with (and inside of) the tank? Heating...again a Juwel heater comes with the tank, will this be OK? Skimmer...No ideas on this one, the Juwel SeaSkim seems to fit in the tank well (at just over £100) but has poor reviews...A lot of people seem to recommend Deltec MCE300...Any thoughts on this? Is there anything else I've forgotten?? Thanks a lot! |

I did away with the PowerHeads and have a single Maxspect Gyre which is clean looking and takes up minimal space. I have the XF150 which is super powerful and have it on the 4th setting ( of 10 ), so the XF130 would be fine me thinks but always good when you decide you want a bigger tank! Do away with the Juwel filter, easily comes off with a knife to release the silicone. I'd recommend drilling a single hole in the back corner and putting a sump in the cabinet. You can take the central partition out without compromising the structural integrity of the cabinet (which hold around a Ton in weight) Heater should be fine. I have 2 in my sump, but my other half has the house around a million degrees so the heaters are next to redundant unless I get my own way and have every window in the house open lol Deltec have great reviews, the Juwel skimmer has bad reviews and needs work. I have a Bubble Magus 5.5 in the sump and love it. Lights.. what are you planning on having light wise? You can clip another set of T5's onto the existing T5's in the tank. I have the T5's with 4 Aquarays (LEDs) (two fixed on the front flap, 2 on the back)
