Quarantine Tank good to go?

I'm gonna be picking up a tiny (1") kamohara blenny, hi fin perchlet, and mimic filefish (2.5") and they will most likely be going to a 10g quarantine tank.
I've got...
- 10g tank
- HOB Aqueon filter
- PVC fittings to hide in

... Is there anything I'm missing, and how long should I let the tank mature before I bring the fish home? Thanks guys

A QT is like any tank, it will need to cycle. Once you see the ammonia drop, and nitrites drop and it can process food into nitrates then you are good to go.

It really all depends on what your plan is for treating the fish if at all.

Do you have a filter ready and cycled? If it's not cycled, then you need to get it cycled first. Since it's a QT, you don't need to get it "mature", rather, you need to make sure that it's able to hold the fish' biological load.

I'm also not so sure about keeping the blenny with the perchlet or the filefish. I'm not familiar with the filefish' aggressiveness, and the perchlet might large enough to eat the blenny.

Solo that's exactly what I use as well! I have a heater as well. All I do is keep a bit of filter floss in my sump of my display system to let it collect bacteria then put it into my qt tank just before I go get fish. I also have an ammonia indicator hanging in their to.

Solo, how long has the fish been quarantined at the store? If he is clean and eating and they have had him for at least 30 days transport them home acclimate and introduce to display tank. In 25 years I have never used a QT for a new fish bought at LFS and have not lost anyone from purchase to transport Your biggest concern would be Ich. This tends to come on from temp drops then stress during transport. Pick him keep it warm and head home. Bag acclimate minimize stress.

Thanks for the advice! The blenny is a type of fang blenny, and gets to be about 3-4", whereas the perchlet maxes out at 2", so all should remain good in the hood (reef)
