Lighting for NUVO Aquarium - Fusion Mini 40 gal

I'm in the process of purchasing this system and I'm trying not to brake the bank for lighting. I'm looking for suggestions/options in the <$200 range. Please advise.

RanmanFish, I think reefwiser is either kidding or he didn't read your entire post. The Radion XR30Pro is only $750 and IMHO, crazy over priced.

Look at ReefBreeders and OceanRevive who are both sponsors here at RC (see sponsor forums below). They both have fixtures for under $200 that will work well for you. I have fixtures from each of them, some for over 30 months now.

No I use a Radion pro on my IM 40.
I have had the reef breeders lights and went with the Radion lights to due the programming and upgrade ability of the lights. Having kept reef tanks since 1988. I buy stuff that last's as I am in this hobby for the long term.

And the OP asked for a fixture that would cost under $200. So your post helped a lot, right?

And just to be clear, I had an ecotech radion and sold it after 6 months because the EverGrow Chinese fixtures I got were easier to work with and ran cooler. Oh, and they cost me $700 for my 180g tank, radions would have cost me $2200+. And the jury is still out on which will end up being a better value.

Ron, great advice. As far as specific products from the aforementioned, I'm trying to figure which would be best:
-SuperLux (Reef Breeders)
-Arctic-T247-B 120W LED Aquarium Light (OceanRevive)

I'm definitely leaning towards the Arctic-T247-B. Your thoughts?

I think you are leaning in the right direction. I've had great success with their fixtures and they stand behind what they sell. I had a single led go bad (not burned out, but defective) and it dimmed all my blue leds. This was 6+ months into having it. They diagnosed the problem from my feedback, sent me 2 new circuit boards with all new leds and lenses which I installed (they just plug in, it took all of 15 minutes from start to finish and new it works like brand new. BTW, that all happened over just 4 or 5 days!

If one reads thru the fusion 40 thread you will see that the radion was the light most used I even asked the question in the thread. 200 dollar fixture doesn't even have a 1/4 of the features of the Radion fixture. I have the ever grow fixture in a box in the storage area. Lol

One more question (I think)...Ocean Revive has another model OR-IT2040 at $319 which I'm assuming is a step up from the Arctic-T247-B. I'm wondering what the main difference is between the two? Is it just the number of LED lights, 55pcs to 48pcs, respectively. I'm new-ish to the hobby and still learning stuff.

Well then if most people use the Radion it must be the best right? Wait that's argumentum ad populum.

I'm sure the Radion XR30 is feature packed and a great light but it's out of the OPs price range and your argument is bad.

I recommend a DIY solution based on a Makers HS and the LEDs of your choice. It's inexpensive and easy to assemble and you can always change out LEDs as newer emitters become available.

for under $200, I would go with the ocean revive - you don't get the control-ability as some of the higher end fixtures but they are solid fixtures. there are a few reefers locally to me that use them and prove they can grow SPS successfully.
