Safe to add dechlorinator to RO water?

I made up a full bucket of RO/DI water yesterday, however I later found that for some reason the TDS is 10. I previously had saltwater in the bucket so I dont know if that has affected it, but I dont want to risk putting it in my tank increase my RO unit has a problem. Can I add dechlorinator just in case any metals and stuff are in it? I dont really want to throw an entire bucket of RO water away.

Maybe make a little more ro and test the tds of it. I would think that if its zero today then your filters were prolly working ok yesterday too. So then you'd know the 10 tds came from a dirty bucket. If your confident the bucket was only dirty with salt (like nobody used it to mop the floor with) then if I were you I'd use it.

Yea make some new RO water and test it in a clean plastic cup..

If you put it in a bucket that contained salt water previously it is going to read high..

No reason to add dechlorinator to d/i water it wil make your skimmer go crazy.

When I get chance i'll hook up the unit and make some more water and test it. The bucket was used for a water change the previous day, I wiped it down with a paper towel before making the RO but I didnt wipe the water from the inside of the lid, and I filled the bucket right up to the top.

Dechlorinator won't remove "any metals and stuff", just chlorine. TDS could be anything.

The dechlorinator I use in my freshwater tank removes heavy metals as well as chlorine and chloramines.

For initial water with high chlorine content. Removes harmful chloramine from mains water. Renders heavy metals such as lead, copper, zinc etc. harmless

Once rodi water has been made and put in a container it will start to accumulate TDS,that's why our ro/ di mixing stations that are supposed to be sterile will grow bacteria in them, once it leaves the filtration system it will accumulate dust, pollen ,normal things that will cause erroneous readings....nothing to worry about.imo
