RODI Q's and Hopefully A's

Hey guys,

Switched out to a new Spectrapure RODI.

Anyways, I sold my old unit that had a booster pump attached to it to a friend.

Now that I'm setting my RODI up and noticed that without a booster im at 40.. maybe 41 or 42 PSI.

I use to run mine around ~ 80+ PSI with the booster on the old W general RODI. Now without the booster since Im at 40, what would be a good PSI? Spectrapure says not to go over 80 but I don't think that is the case is it?

Also, could I use any booster? Or should I stick with Spectra's brand.

Sorry for newb questions. My old unit was pretty simple, set and forget and a buddy of mine helped set it up. This time, I kind of want to do it myself so I graciously turned down their offers to help and set it up myself.

So the questions I'm asking are basically:

-What is an optimal range or specific number for PSI?

-What booster pump can I use?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to getting some helpful tips from you pro reefers

60-80psi would be reccomended as that is the reccomended psi for most membranes.

You dont have to use spetrapure brand booster pumps. The most common brand people use is the aquatic 8800.

Hope that helps
