57 gal rr illuminata equipment
Hi All,
Finally going bigger from my small anemone nano to a 57 gallon illuminata. I've been researching a bit on equipment, but could use some input on skimmer, return pump, and light. For the skimmer I am pretty sold on the reef octopus Classic 110int. My total volume with sump should be right around 70 gallons. I plan on keeping a a good deal of sps, but is this thing overkill? I like it because of the solid reviews of both the skimmer and company over all, and it fits very well in my sump. For return pump I so far have no idea of where I should go here. I have about 50 inches for head loss, thoughts on the gph I will want to have? (I have an mp40 and mp10 for supplemental flow in diplay) Finally the light. The tank is 36 inches wide, and I am wanting to go old school here- no LEDs this time around. Planning on a t5, mh combo. The Cebu sun looks like my best option there, but I am wondering if 2x250w mh's will be overkill or if I should stick to one? There are the 4 t5s to consider as well (tank depth 21 inches. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Sanding/staining the stand now so looking forward to going live with this in the next few weeks! Thanks, Steve
