New Tank Sealant???
Ok I am doing is small
My old 10 gallon coral only tank has salt crystalizing at the bottom I am migrating to a new 20 gallon which was purchased from a reputable dealer Should I invest time and effort in applying additional sealer to ensure non-leakage. I yes can you recommend a sealer. Thanks John |

If its a new tank it should be fine and I wouldn't mess with the seals. To properly reseal a tank you need to dismantle it, remove all old silicone completely, ensure all edges are clean and reassemble using rtv silicone. It is a bit of work and not worth the effort on a small tank which is cheap to replace.

New "sealer" (silicone) will not stick (very well) to the already cured silicone used to build the tank. You will gain nothing and only make a mess. |
