Quieting a Vertex Omega 150 Venturi Sound: video?
I don't know if this is standard or even quiet for a skimmer but I heard this model is one of the quietest. My venutri on the omega 150 ( the pump head that twists is making all the sound.. I don't mind the silencer or the pump itself isn't that loud and its on a silicone so its not vibrating but the sucking of air is loud and I even unscrewed the venturi and cleaned it out its only about a month or so old and its still loud is that normal? Any tips or suggestions you guys might have done? If i stick my finger in... it goes super quiet so I know its the venturi that is making all the noise.

Wrap some tape around the part that screws in and out of the venturi. Had the same issue and that fixed it for me. Don't use teflon. Use the thicker stuff for PVC. - |
