Eheim Compact Pumps Stink

The title says it all. I have been an Eheim fan since the 1970s. Loved their canisters, the 1262, the new Universal 3400s. But for god's sake the compact pumps are just plain awful. They die at the drop of a hat. Servicing them is ridiculously difficult. IMO, Eheim is ruining their stellar reputation by selling these things.

I believe that those are rebranded Eden pumps from Italy. I have a 2000 and like it so far.

Yes, Eheim put their name on someone elses design, no idea why a company w such an excellent rep would do that w/out taking over production and making proper corrections.
The Eheim compact is not an Eheim, and most agree they are junk.
The original Eheims a different story, one of the best returns out there.

Based on my experience with them, it makes perfect sense to me that Eheim compacts are not Eheim pumps. Also could not agree more that true Eheim pumps are the gold standard for aquarium pumps.
