aqualogic temp controller showing EP error?

Looked at my temp controller this morning and just saw a "EP" on the screen. Looked up the code and says either bad temp sensor or wiring or connections to it. It all looks ok. My tank is at 72 degrees so I plugged the heaters directly into the wall socket but I am sure the temp sensor on the heater doesn't work so I will have to monitor it closely. So now what?

Do I get a replacement sensor for about $35? It is 9 years old.

Do I buy a New Ranco controller for about $120?

Do I buy some other type of dual stage controller? If so what else is available?

Or do I buy another AquaLogic controller for $185?

How about some opinions out there.

Ok, I pretty much decided to buy a new dual stage temp controller to control my chiller and heaters. Is there any thing out there that is as reliable as a Ranco but less expensive?

Ranco has one with dual control, I would go with that.

I am assuming the AquaLogic I have is actually just a rebranded Ranco. It look the same and using the same programming. A replacement is $120.

I was looking around for dual stage controllers and came across this Inkbird Controller. It is used a lot by brewers but is also listed for aquariums.

Does anyone have any experience with them?
