Trav's JBJ45g Rimless
I've been reefing since 04. Should I say, nano reefing since 04 lol. This is the biggest tank I have ever set up and I'm pretty pumped!
I work with metal for a living, mostly modeling/designing but I also program CNC machines. So naturally I built my own stand. 1/4" foam on top. I wanted a place to keep all the cords at bay and have easy access to all the goodies. Here is the first FTS, even though it's dry I want to do a full blown SPS reef. After weeks of reaserching I think I am going to go with an ATI T5HO fixture. Still debating over a 6 or 8 bulb fixture though. That's all for now, I'll probably start mixing all the water during the long Thanksgiving weekend. |

hands down....the sexiest damn stand I have seen on here. I honestly think you should consider setting up shop and selling custom stands for the RL45's. Incorporate some exotic woods into the design and you could make a killing. love it! good work

Thanks! I actually do build stands for the guys in the local reef clubs. Wood would be awesome, I have an uncle in law who is a professional cabinet builder. Maybe we could team up. |

that would be awesome, zebra wood or acacia wood on the side with some milled wood handles for the front, subtle yet unique and organic just like the tank itself, mechanical yet natural. you have a talent, I say abuse it! wish you were in Nebraska haha.

Looks really good. I really like the stand. Will you be running a skimmer? How will you hang your lights. Also, IMO, a 6bulb ATI fixture will be plenty for SPS for that tank.

Thanks. I plan on making my own mounting legs for the fixture. The more I am looking at it, a 6 bulb does seem plenty. |

Well just my luck. I was cleaning all the finger prints from the tank and discovered there was a huge scuff/scratch on the front of the tank.
You can see it from the side looking through the front pane. I contacted JBJ about the problem and they asked for pictures. They should be sending me a new tank. I should know for sure by tomorrow. Damn the luck! |

that stand is absolute perfection.
Speaking of imperfection though.. my JBJ30 had some scuffs and things.. I just learned to live with them and eventually upgraded anyways.. sucks though.
