NH3 testing during cycling

Currently cycling my 240g tank. Is using the seachem ammonia alert badge ok for this purpose or do i need to get a test kit? The badge right now is reading alarm at 0.2 after 24hrs of adding ammonia to the tank. I also added Dr Tim's one and only bacteria at the same time.
