Metal stand
Anyone out there have a metal stand? I'll be building one probably next weekend but I'm curious as to what thickness I should go for... I'm thinking 2x2 .065 will be thick enough for a 6'x2' frag tank The stand is currently going to be for a frag tank but in the near future I'd like to have a 160 rimless built... Anyone have any thoughts on the thickness? Not sure if I should go thicker or not

The price of steel is so cheap I'd go as thick as I could. It's going to get heavy pretty quick tho. Is going to be welded or bolted together?

Depending on welding ability you might want to go thicker just to make errors in cutting a non-issue even with largish gaps...

I built my stand out of 2x2x.188 wall. It is way over built 96x32x40 tall. Its for a 96x32x24 tank. You could park a truck on it.
