Fireball Angelfish (Centropyge aurantonotus)
After discussing this fish with the owner of my LFS, I decided to bring it home. Now that I have done some further research, I have my doubts.
My Tank - 120g mostly SPS with some LPS and a Crocea Clam. I'm not at all worried about it being picked on - just the opposite. It's in QT now, so catching and returning would be easy. Anybody with any experiences with this fish?

Mine was a perfect citizen for 8 months then he began the LPS smorgasboard. Acans, duncans and chalices on the menu. I didn't have a clam so can't speak to that risk.
Many people have them long term with no problem. Every fish in these "reef safe with caution" designations are different. Some eat corals and some don't. If you have a fish trap and are ok with the risk go for it. They are great fish. FWIW mine was easy to catch. :-)

There is a thread floating around that has a spread sheet in it. The spreadsheet has data on dwarf angels that pick on corals. I think the data on Fireball Angels is rather low. But, it does have good data on other angels like coral beauty, flame, etc. I'll see if I can find it and link it to you.

Thanks for posting that link. I just finished reading the whole thing. I got this little guy to replace a flame that I had for at least 7-8 years and who was a model citizen (if a bit of a jerk towards new additions)

Yeah, I think I am. I had a Cherub in the old 60 cube but it was mostly palys and zoas - enough of them that I never would have noticed if it was picking at anything.
