Weird ... any ideas?
Female clown, 3.5 years old
Had red lump over left nostril last week or so then this clear bubble appeared over it (she had the same lump in the exact same spot in July. It disappeared within 2 weeks.) No other symptoms on her or her mate. No other fish or inverts in tank other than a few snails and microstars. Soft corals and some LPS. Tank perimeters same as always, everything in normal ranges per Salifert tests. Nitrates have run 25 since adding a sun coral in August Any ideas welcomed! Please click on thumbnail to enlarge. |

I've never seen them blow bubbles out of their nose before. It actually looks like a water drop dried on the tank glass.
Why did you delete the other shot?

I don't know why that one didn't attach. The bubble has been there since this morning, so I am thinking cyst of some type?

That looks to me like the start of HLLE.
Edit: I did not mean for that to rhyme.

Rudolph or HLLe ... hoping for the Rudolph nose. Will research hlle in clowns. Kept hoping it would do the same as it did in late July/early August, but in checking my tank notes I see it has been almost a month this time. Just cannot find anything that looks like that blister!
