Best apex?

What the best apex to get? Thinking of getting one, tired of worrying when I go out of town. Have a camera on it now but need something better.

Just the regular apex or apex with the lab grade probe if you really want it, they can support any additions you want to add to the system. apex JR will only support i think 5-6 add ons.

^ this.

Unless you are planning on running ozone, the gold version is not necessary. The regular Apex can do everything you need (and probably more) and really is a dream to have monitoring your tank when you're away!

Gold does add the PM2 and salinity probe.

I would suggest the full Apex and if you want salinity monitoring now or down the line, you would be best served getting the gold package as it reduces the cost of the salinity add on module and probe.

Regular Apex with enough power to monitor/control your tanks gear. Depending on your lights you may not want to waste the EP ports for that. Mine are controlled by the AWM so the power comes from a different source.

Thanks! Do y'all ever have any problems with the emails not getting to you when you are actually having a problem. I have been standing there and someone said, "why I am not getting an email about this?" Granted this was 5 yrs ago. Have there been improvements in this. This is the main reason I didn't get one right away and still haven't. But hearing so many get one, I just need peace of mind.

I always get emails and text messages as soon as it loses power or there's a spike in temp.

You'll be fine with either regular or gold - forget the Jr. I like the gold because it comes with all of the basics plus a little more. As for the alerts, mine work fine. I got an an email and a text about 10 seconds after the power went out the other day.

I would stay away from Apex Jr. - just found out the hard way that it only supports 5 expansion modules...AAAARRRGh. Get the Apex regular or above.
