New to the forum!
Morning Reefers! So where to begin? First off, I must say thank you to everyone that has posted on this website. What originally started off as a dream is now going to become a reality. Over a year of reading has now convinced me to dive in. Although, i do have some final questions. I know the information is out there but unfortunately i feel as if i had read to much? Is that possible? Here's what my setup will be starting February. Living room and dining room share the same wall. I will be placing a 150-180 gallon tank viewing from both front and back. I will have a fish room although small in my basement with sump/equipment. Now that you understand the basic tank setup here are my questions.
1. Is Apex worth it? I want a controller that will make my life easier? Are there better controllers out there? 2. Internal skimmer or external? 3. My total volume will be around 300 gallons. My thought is more water more time to adjust if need be? 4. What are things you guys would do different? I am all about making things easier! Once again i am aware these items have been answer numerous times throughout the years. Call me weird but having someone tell me "this is what you need." Will make my stomach feel better! Thanks in advance. |

1. Yes to me purchasing an Apex is well worth the expense. There is not a more versatile controller on the market.
2. I prefer internal simply as a containment in case the skimmer overflows. 3. I'm not sure if I follow your question but if you are asking does more water make your tank more stable then the answer is yes. 4. A fully automated water change set up is nice to have. |

Standard Apex system? Or go with the Apex Gold?

Read the SET UP HOW TO at the top of this forum.
1. Yes, Apex is worth the price. 2. Internal. 3. Yes, bigger is more stable but also more expensive in every way from water to lighting. 4. Go slowly, don't try to make things happen quickly or cheaply. Welcome and good luck! |
