Not new but back in it
Good afternoon fellow reefers,
I had several saltwater tanks from 2005-2010 ranging from a 75 Gallon that was up and running for 5 years; 14 Gallon biocube that was running for 3 years with a shared sump. I did not have ANY tanks from 2010 to well 17 days ok. I spent about 2 months buying everything to not effect my wallet as much as a large hit all at once. Basically this time around I'm much wiser and more patient then in the past. I bought a CoraLife 29 Gallon Biocube. Here are some things I have done to it. ---InTank Media Basket - with below stuff filter floss - Carbon matrix - Purigen - and ChemiPure - sponge ---InTank Refugium - trying to find chaeto for it / may have found a local place ---JBJ 4 LED light for refugium ---100 Watt heater - went a tad larger than needed house is rather chilly ---Project Reef Rock 2.1 (55LB) used half of it ---30 LBS of Fiji Pink ---2 450 Nano Power heads - they make a large thunk when they cycle on with the wave maker - will be changing this in the near future. ---NO fish or coral yet ---ProLEDsupply lights on the way I think they get here today. ---2 extra moon lights. blue ---APC backup battery ---4 Timers 1 for day blue 1 for day white 1 for night blue 1 for refugium light will be adding one for wave maker. or going to get a gyre instead cant decide. I have the tank sitting at 80°F all levels are very low to none at all no algae growth yet BUT either way just wanted to introduce myself Name is Stephen and Happy to be here. I will take pictures here soon - once my powerheads are aimed correctly and I stop getting bare glass. |

Looking forward to your build. I almost bought a biocube, but got a traditional tank for free via Craigslist.
My next tank will most definitely be a biocube. Good luck! And welcome back! |

Here is the tank. It's got quite a few caves in it. Like I said no fish yes today is the 18th day of running.

Used biospira to get it cycled. seems to have worked. I had some algae for a day or two.
I cant seem to edit my picture post. - white picture is without the attinic on. - blue one is with attinic on. - LED lights will get installed tonight/tomorrow - I took this picture yesterday at lunch, and I corrected the flow in the tank to stop making the low spot in the right side.
