DNW 200 skimmer - new pump or new everything?

Long time lurker, first time poster - tried to find the answers in my local forum (Australian forum) but all I got was the sound of crickets...

I've got a reef octopus DNW 200 external skimmer with the original OTP 3000 pump. I've changed the impellor over for a needlewheel type, but overall I find it too loud.

I'm happy with the skimmer in every way, apart from being a little big, and too noisy.

I'm looking for opinions on what to do: Get a replacement pump for it that will make it quieter, or simply get an entirely new skimmer (In which case, what would be recommended for a ~60 gallon setup, medium bioload, option of running internal or external, while watching the budget?).

Cheers,

James.
