How big of a diiference does a pinwheel impeller make in a skimmer pump?

My sicce 3.0 impeller has a crack in it and needs replaced. Replacement pinwheel is about 90.00. A regular impeller is about 55.00. Does the pinwheel
make that much of a difference?

Totally necessary, otherwise your skimmer will be essentially useless.

Yes it makes a huge difference... chops up the air much finer and if i remember correctly pulls more air.

Should I buy another impeller for the Sicce or is there a better choice for a replacement pump?

Depends on what kind of skimmer it is but getting a sicce is almost never a bad decision.

Sicce is the bomb. Get a new impeller. There is a company who makes pin wheel impellers I forget the name now at much cheaper prices.

A regular impeller is what return pumps use. Pinwheel/needle wheel impellers are what skimmer pumps use.

I couldn't stay away from RC for too long even if I was allergic. Haha. Always willing to lend my reefing 2 cents.
